The badminton matches will start on June 10-16, 2015 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
“At the moment the team is in a good shape, we are all ready to fight at the SEA Games. We ask for best wishes from Indonesian people so that the team will perform optimally and accomplish the targets expected," said Lius Pongoh, the Indonesian Team Manager.
Indonesia sends 20 shuttlers to hunt for medals in the annually held event. The team consists of a combination of senior and junior players. The Men's Singles is represented by a 17 year old shuttler Jonatan Christie.
The Women's Singles category is represented by an experience-rich shuttler, Linda Wenifanetri. The Indonesian team aims for two medals at the SEA Games 2015. The Men's Doubles and Mixed Doubles are trusted to carry the biggest expectation to achieve success in raising the Red and White flag at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Meanwhile the Men's team, Women's team and Women's Singles category are expected to win silver medal. While in the Men's Team, Women's Team and Women's Doubles are expected to win bronze medal. Although the Sea Games 2015 is held shortly after the BIO 2015, the atheletes have prepared well and believed to perform well.
“The SEA Games has been scheduled, and the athletes will be back on the court on June 10, they have been prepared. Now it is a matter of mindset that needs to be straightened and leave the preparation to the coach," Ricky Soebagdja, the Head of PBSI National Training, said.
