A fierce match was shown by Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan as the only Indonesia's vice that will perform in the final round this evening.
Ahsan/Hendra who managed to lead in the first set with 21-10 had to
play a prolonged match by playing rubber set after Vladimir Ivanov/Ivan Sozonov succeeded in overcoming them in the second set
with a tight result, 22-20.
It seemed that the Russian players' body postures played roles in
helping them to win over the Indonesian pair in the second set.
Refusing to be humiliated at home, Ahsan/Hendra was playing
offensively in the third set, the rumbling crowds became additional
fuel for both of them.
Powerful smashes by Ahsan/partner often couldn't be returned by the
Russian duo. Chasing point drama occurred in the crucial third set as
though Vladimir Ivanov/Ivan Sozonov who previously had been beaten in
the second set could predict Ahsan/Hendra's playing as they tried to
catch up in the second and the third set.
Ahsan had his right hand injured, but the supports on behalf of the
fans at the stadium spread the magic that generated amazing energy to
Ahsan/Hendra.
Will Ahsan be another decisive factor in achieving victory?
