Hoon Thin How/Tan Wee Kiong from Malaysia was defeated in a three set drama which was ended in 10-21, 21-18 and 21-15.
The fierce battle between the two pairs had been occurred in the
beginning of the match. Losing in the first set did not make the former national team daunted.
In the second set they found the pattern of the match though having
just being paired for three months. "I had been aware of the seniority of the opponents since the beginning of the match, in fact they're the world's 7th rank. But it turned out we were the ones who performed well," Markus stated.
Qualified in qualification boosted the motivation to prove that they could shock the odds. No expectations been set to Andrei/Markus.
The support from the fans flooding the stadium gave a spirit for both
of them. Evidently, they had more confidence and became solid.
"They had known that there would be many supporters when playing in
Indonesia. Weak smash can be very 'powerful' here," Andrei said.
In a battle for quarter final, Andrei/Markus will play against China's fifth seeds, Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng. It is not easy, but playing without setting high expectations becomes their fuel to face the champion of London Olympic 2012.
