Through a three-game match, Chen managed to end the game with the score of 21-23, 21-18, and 23-21 within the course of 84 minutes. This result helps Chen to lead the score by 4-1 in the head-to-head statistics between Chen and Sung.
“The opponent on today’s match was very good, and I had some difficulties in keeping up with her game plays. But I tried to show my best effort to defend against her until I finally got the win,” as expressed by Chen after the match.
Chen, who immediately suffered a loss from Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, the Indonesian player on the first round during the 2017 Indonesia Open, claimed that she has improved herself in many aspects, including her morale and skill. “Now I feel more matured from many aspects, including my morale and skill compared to last year,” she said.
