(Blibli Indonesia Open 2018) Indonesia Becomes Lee Chong Wei’s Second Home

Lee Chong Wei, the top Malaysian player, grasped his ticket to the semifinal of Blibli Indonesia Open 2018 after beating the Thai athlete, Kantaphon Wangcharoen in a two-set match of 21-13, 22-20. The player who managed to claim the Malaysia Open title last week played calmly and show his usual top performance.

Chong Wei is one of the three players that managed to collect six Indonesia Open titles. He won the Indonesia Open title in 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2016. The other two players that have the same achievement as him are Taufik Hidayat and Ardi Wiranata.

“I won it six times, i feel that many supporters come here to support me,” as expressed by Chong Wei after the match.

He can feel the support from his supporters and he can see that they came all the way to Indonesia to support him. Furthermore, Chong Wei claimed that Indonesia is his second home.

“To me, Indonesia is my second home,” he added.

On the semifinal, Chong Wei will face Kento Momota (JPN) who managed to defeat the host representative, Tommy Sugiarto during the match that was held earlier today. Tomorrow’s match will be the fourth match between these two, during their last encounter on the final match of Malaysia Open 2018, Chong Wei managed to add a win to the head-to-head statistics between these two and turned it into a 2-1 lead for Chong Wei. Will Chong Wei add another win to the head-to-head statistics between them, or will Momota equalize Chong Wei’s statistics? Well, let’s wait and see.
