One of the top players participating in the tournament is Liu Yuchen, the men’s doubles player who is paired with Li Junhui is currently sitting on the world’s No. 4 rank. The defending champion of BCA Indonesia Open 2017 is back to compete against the other top players.
“I hope to do the best on this match to defend our title,” as expressed by Liu Yuchen on the latest press conference held in Hotel Sultan Jakarta.
On the tournament that is held in Indonesia, the Chinese pair feels like Indonesia is a lucky place for them as they managed to win the title in Indonesia Open last year and being the runner up on the recent Indonesia Master 2018.
“Indonesia is a place that gives us luck, we hope that this year we can defend our title and now the only thing that we can do is to focus, step-by-step on every match and that is all we must do,” he added.
With the status as a defending champion, the pair restrains themselves from underestimating their opponents since their toughest competitors are players coming from Indonesia, Denmark and Japan.
“Our toughest opponent is either Indonesia or Denmark, certainly Japan will also be another tough opponent for us in this tournament” he said.
