The result means that Momota managed to replicate his success in Istora 3 years ago. During Indonesia Open 2015, he grabbed the title after beating yet another Danish player, Jan O Jørgensen in the final round of the tournament
“I feel satisfied to be able to win again in the World Tour Super 1000 tournament. Furthermore, I won it in front of my supporters in Indonesia,” as stated by Momota.
“There was no special training prepared to win the title this time, but it is certain that I have mentally prepared myself to play my best performance in all matches throughout this year’s Indonesia Open,” he added.
“This time, the match wasn’t easy, especially during the first game. But in the second game, the opponent seemed very tired. From that moment on, I was very happy to have the chance to overturn the situation and showed all my capabilities,” Momota said.
Despite playing away from his home, Momota received a lot of support from Istora crowd during today’s match. “I’m very happy and thankful to all my supporters in Indonesia,” Momota stated.
