Ratchanok Intanon successfully break the heart of the public of Istora Senayan, earlier today, Tuesday (3/7) when the Thai women’s singles player managed to beat Indonesia’s key player, Fitriani on the first round of Blibli Indonesia Open 2018.

The match was played on field No. 1 where the 2013 world champion managed to make it past Fitriani through a two-set game of 21-18 and 21-16 within the course of 36 minutes. The result extends Ratchanok’s records against Fitriani to a 5-0 lead.

“On the second set Fitriani had her moment when she played better than I do and I also made several unforced errors. Fortunately, I win the match,” as expressed by Intanon after the match.

On the second round, Intanon has the chance to face yet another Indonesian player, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, who will only play her first game against Lee Chia Hsin (Taiwan) later this evening.

Gregoria who played one of her best games during the recent Uber Cup 2018 was seen by Intanon as something that she must be aware of if she sees Gregoria on the second round.

“Gregoria is currently on her best form. Especially during the latest Uber cup, she managed to beat all of her opponents. I will prepare harder to play on the second round,” she adds.

In contrast, Intanon, the champion of Indonesia Open 2015, has the initial target of reaching semifinal for this year’s Blibli Indonesia Open.

“My Target for this tournament is to at least reach semifinal, but I also have to take it step-by-step,” she added.
