The plan for Sport-Artainment concept was introduced by Achmad Budiarto, the Chief Project Officer for Blibli.com Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000 during press conference that was held at Ritz-Carlton Hotel on Wednesday (26/6).

“Normally we held the event with a sportainment concept, however as we all know it, this concept has been followed by the organizers in other countries. Thus, we are challenged to always be the organizer of the best tournament in the world, that is why for this year we are adopting the Sport-artainment concept,” as said by Achmad Budiharto during his speech.

“There will be a few additions to Istora, there will be more art to it. There will be ornaments that accommodate the millenials, but will also accommodate those who bring families to the tournament,” He added.

On the other hand, Kusumo Martanto, the CEO of Blibli.com claimed that Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000 can also be considered as a tourist destination. This is because the tournament that will be held in Istora Senayan, Jakarta from 16 to 21 July is not only considered as an event where people come to watch elite players compete but also an event that is specifically-designed to be more than just a sports event.

“It’s a challenge for us we have to improve every year. This year, we adopt a sport-artainment concept. We don’t just organize a sports event, but we also organize event to cater the need of everyone who come to the venue, including families, hence we hope this can also be a tourist destination,” Kusumo Said.

Furthermore, Kusumo also stated that in the coming Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000, the organizers provide a special spot for local producers that are categorized as Small and Medium Enterprises to introduce their products to the public.

“We want to introduce Indonesian products, we support them and we are proud that Indonesia has many potential that are unknown to the people,” He said.
