Disappointment can clearly be seen from Anthony’s face after many of shots during crucial moment of the match didn’t make it to the opponent’s side of the court. “Today’s result was not as expected. The match was tight since the beginning until the end of the match. In the first set I managed to leave him far behind, but I made way too many unforced errors. That was the moment for the opponent to shine, if he is left behind he doesn’t want to give up easily,” said Anthony Sinisuka Ginting.
"During the third set, same things happened, since the beginning, the set has been tight. However after the break he was much braver. He was forcing himself to attack me more through over heads. Although it was a bit aggressive, but most of the time it helped him to score points,” he added.
Furthermore, Anthony claims that Kantaphon’s performance is getting better compared to the last time Anthony met him. “During our last match, I lost to him. But over the time, his performance is starting to get better, compared to our last meeting where he made so many unforced errors. But like I said before, he is a very hardworking player and he rarely makes unforced errors, hence it is difficult to steal points from him. I have to always be more ready than him,” he said.
To leave the competition in the second round of Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000, Anthony hopes that he can improve his performance before the next tournament starts.
Furthermore, the PB SGS PLN Bandung Alumna has the target to reach the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. “I am sure that everybody wants to play in the Olympics. But I’m trying to keep it under control. I should not crave for it too much, as it can be a boomerang for me. So I have to consider that every match is equal. This doesn’t mean that I am being arrogant, but I wanted to focus on each and every match first,” said Anthony.
