“If we face players from the Europe, we have to anticipate the non-technical factors, we shall not get carried away by our emotion, because this may distract our plays and we may lose our focus,” said Melati Daeva Oktavianti.
“We already know who we are playing against, so we have to learn our opponents from now. This is a big tournament, hence we know that we will play against good players, we have to be ready,” She added responding to the drawing result.
Praveen/Melati will face the German pairs, Mark Lamsfuuss/Isabel Herttrich on the first round of Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000. This will be the second match that both Praveen/Melati & Lamsfuss/Herttrich see each other, they both first face each other during All England 2019 BWF World Tou Super 1000, on March, where Praveen/Melati won the match by 21-11 and 21-17.
Despite anticipating the non-technical factors, Melati claimed that she is optimistic that Praveen and she is superior in terms of the playing techniques. Furthermore, Melati also added that she is fit with the European style of plays. “In terms of technique and compactness, we are improving, now it all depends on how each of us strengthens ourselves,” She said.
On the next round, should Praveen/Melati make it past through the first round, the World’s No. 7 pair from Indonesia will play against yet another European pair, that is Marcuss Ellis/Lauren Smith from England or Marvin Seidel/Linda Efler from Germany.
On the other hand, few days before the kick-off of Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000, Praveen/Melati are undergoing several special training programs prepared by the head coach, Richard Mainaky.
“Since last week we have been training all out, the women are focused in sharpening the agility and leftright shots whole the Men are more focused on smashes and mastering field coverage. In two weeks we are maximizing our preparation program,” She stated.
“Everybody wants to be the champion, although it may not be easy, but nothing is impossible. We want to play our best since we play in front of our home fans,” She added.
