Jakarta | Huge Surprise come from the Thai Men’s Singles player, Kantaphon Wangcharoen who is through to the semifinal of Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000 after beating the Chinese player, Huang Yu Xiang in a two-set match of 21-10 and 21-17 that was held in Istora Senayan, Jakarta on Friday (19/7).

This will be Kantaphon’s third semifinal in the tournament of Super 1000 level. “I’m very happy to have made it this far. I think I will keep trying to show my best quality for the coming semifinal match,” said Kantaphon Wangcharoen to Djarumbadminton.com

“I believe I have shown my best qualities in every match. And now I don’t too much on who is my current opponent and who will I play next, what’s important for me is to play all-out,” he added.

Kantaphon’s performance in Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000 is said to be exceptional. Previously, in the Round of 16, Kantaphon managed to beat one of the host’s key Men’s Singles players, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting with the score of 22-20, 11-21 and 21-19.

Kantaphon claims that this achievement is the result of his hard work during the four-month long preparation. The 21 years old player hopes to play more consistently in order for him to able to play in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. “I’m still in the qualification phase for the 2020 Olympics now, but I hope that I can play in the Olympics,” he said.

“My coach said that if I have to shine in the world level, as I am still young. That’s why I work hard and train hard every day. I didn’t think much about the tournament or the other things, what’s important for me were to train and play. I always give all my best in every training session, because I want to be like Lee Chong Wei,” he said.
