She believes that the tournament will be a good occasion for her to show the true quality of the Indonesian Women’s Singles team. “This will be my first time playing in Indonesia Open, I am excited. Hopefully everything that I have prepared during the training can be useful in the tournament,” She said.

However, Ruselli will immediately face a tough challenge on the opening match. The PB Jaya Raya Jakarta Alumnus will have to play against the World’s No. 7 player from Thailand, Ratchanok Intanon. “This is my first time playing against Ratchanok Intanon. I will play all-out as the opponent is seeded. My hope is to at least catch up with her plays. Speaking about my biggest hope is to surprise the public,” She said.

Furthermore, Ruselli also claimed that she will anticipate Intanon’s offensive plays. During the fewmonths long preparation in the training center, the head coach Rionny Mainaky, has trained Ruselli’s defense to be stronger if she faces Intanon’s attacks that are known to be very dangerous.

“Something that I have to anticipate is her lobs and her attacks. Yes its true there was defense training program and my defense has been further prepared by the coach. Intanon is an offensive player, not rally-type player. In contrast, I do rally and counter attack plays, hopefully I can match her type of play, and I still don’t know as I have never play against her,” She stated.
