Jakarta | Through the match that lasted for 26 Minutes, Indonesian Men’s Singles player, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung sails smoothly to the second round of Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000 after beating the Thai player, Pornpawee Chochuwong on the match that was held in Istora Senayan, Jakarta on Tuesday (16/7).

The host’s key player performed very well in her opening match of the tournament. Even on the second set, Gregoria’s performance was unbearable. In contrast, Chochuwong did not play very well, which was very unlikely. Chochuwong failed to keep up with the rhythm played by Gregoria.

“In the early game she did not play all-out, there was a chance to press and control the game. On the second set, same things happened, she made several unforced errors. The return shot to me was not difficult for me, rather the shot makes it difficult for herself,” said Gregoria Mariska Tunjung.

Gregoria will face yet another Thai player in the Round of 16 of Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000. On the next round, the PB Mutiara Cardinal Bandung alumna will play against the Badminton queen from Thailand, Ratchanok Intanon who has secured a spot in the round of 16 earlier after beating the Indonesian player, Ruselli Hartawan through a two—set match of 21-14 and 21-14.

“Pornpawee’s shots may not be as dangerous as Ratchanok’s. In terms of quality and type of play, Ratchanok is clearly above Pornpawee. This is because Ratchanok has more experience as she is a worldclass player,” she said.

“The last time I met Ratchanok, i was beaten through a straight game. I want to play with all the motivations I have, not easily giving points to her, I should be able to put a fierce fight against her to boost my confident,” she added.
