Playing below her own standards, Tai Tzu Ying claims that she feels disappointed after failing to reach the final round of the tournament. “Today I played badly. I was not feeling well. Today I couldn’t show my power and my best agility. Such a shame,” said Tai Tzu Ying after the match.
Tai Tzu Ying who is the first seeded player in this tournament tried to catch up the opponent in the second set. However, many of her attempts failed to help her to reach the expected result. Many of her attacks didn’t help her to win points, but it helped Akane to gain points instead. Most of Tzu Ying’s shots didn’t make it to the opponent’s side of court.
Nonetheless, Tzu Ying praises Akane. “Akane is one of the most intelligent Women’s Singles players in the world in terms of returning the shots, especially when she is attacking. But what else can I do, I really couldn’t show my best performance today. I didn’t feel really well today,” she said.
After knocked out of Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000, Tai Tzu Ying will immediately start preparing herself to play in Japan Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 750 that will be held next week. In the first round, Tzu Ying will face Zhang Beiwen, the Women’s Singles player from the U.S.
