Jojo: Senayan Fans Are Astonishing

Jonatan Christie said the fans at Istora Senayan were awesome. Jojo who was initially nervous finally able to cheer the fans and made it as motivation to win the game and qualify for the main round of the Bank Indonesia Open Super Series Premier (BIO) in 2015.

Facing the Thai Boonsak Ponsana, Jojo who belongs to Pelatnas (national training) Cipayung emerged a winner. He stunned Ponsana 22-20 and 21-17, Tuesday (2/6). He also claimed to be surprised by the fanfare given the badminton lovers. 

"Fans are tremendous. This is the first time I performed at the Indonesia Open. They (the audience) were really supportive. My coach said his strategy instructed was unheard," Jojo said after the game.

"After a bit nervous at the beginning, it turned out to be so motivating," he added.

The victory over Ponsana practically makes his the target to qualify for the main round at BIO 2015 fulfilled. Furthermore, he will take on Chou Tien Chen, who has been waiting in the first round.

"More or less, I begin to understand the pattern of the game. At least, I still need to discuss with my coach to win the upcoming match,” said Hendry Saputra’s upbringing.

Asked about his expectations for the main draw, further targets after reaching the main draw, Jojo who is now 17-year-old was reluctant to say. But he will surely try to achieve the best results.

"One step at a time, there's Lin Dan who is more superior. It's not easy to beat him," he concluded.

In addition to Jojo, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting also qualified for the main round. He won the civil war against his senior, Sony Dwi Kuncoro 21-9, 21-16.
