A Japanese men's single has shown an incredible overall performance. Starting from the qualifying, he successfully reaches the final round of BCA Indonesia Superseries Premier Open 2017. However, it is not easy for Kazamasa Sakai to breach the final round.
Kazumasa had to fight hard through a rubber game drama against Prannoy Haseena Sunil Kumar in the semifinal, Saturday afternoon (17/6). Although he was forced to surrender in the first game 17-21, he won in the second game which was also through a setting duel, 28-26.
Finally in the third game, Kazumasa managed to tame Prannoy in the 76th minute with a score of 21-18. This is his second victory of their two meetings. Kazumasa is currently leading 2-0.
"I could not control the match in the first game and I felt my body was heavy. In the last two game, I tried to improve by speeding up his foot positioning and I could control the game," said Kazumasa.
"I took it very seriously when it came to rally points and I had to score. Prannoy can move fast, he has strong feet. If I had not been able handle him, I would not have been able to win. Speaking about target, mine is becoming a champion." Kazumasa said.
Kazumasa also said that in the ultimate round, Sunday (18/6) tomorrow, he promised to give all his ability until the target is achieved.
