Marc Zwiebler from Germany defeated Tommy in two sets straight, 21-17, 21-10. Chasing points drama had been occurred in the beginning of the match. There were no chasms given either from Tommy or Zwiebler to score.
"Tommy is a good player. It was tougher than I had thought. Moreover,
the Indonesian fans supports were incredible, pretty tough," said
Zwiebler.
The German badminton player also stated that Tommy was playing with a
lot of pressures. He seemed to be confused in how to score.
With this result, their head to head record is 3 - 1. Tommy was also
defeated by him at their last match in Korea Open Super Series Premier
2013.
"I am happy to win the match," he said. Zwiebler will play against
Malaysia's first seed, Malaysia Lee Chong Wei. Theoretically speaking,
Chong Wei is more favorable since he won the last six matches.
However, anything is possible in Djarum Indonesia Open Super Series
Premier 2013. Both of them surely want to be the champion.
Zwiebler refused to speculate about his match tomorrow against Chong
Wei. One thing for sure, he came to Indonesia to win a title.
"I will play the best I can. I have no pressure. Hopefully, I have the
luck for tomorrow," he added
