The medical examination from MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) indicates the muscle fiber is suffering bruising and she needs a rest.
"Bella has to take a rest for three months and she is not able to play at Indonesia Open and SEA Games 2015. It is unfortunate, but this is the bitter truth. It is better for her to recover than getting her injury to get worse," PBSI's Ricky Soebagdja, at the BIO 2015 press conference at Kempinski Hotel, Monday (25/5).
Bellaetrix injury started at Piala Sudirman 2015 in which she played against China's Li Xuerui. Bellaetrix fell down injuring her left knee which forced her surrender.
It has been a week she has been receiving treatment after going back to Indonesia and the the injury is still haunting Bellaetrix and making her losing two prestigious tournaments. To make things worse, the good looking player has to completely absent from any badminton events for around three months.
“The recovery process has several phases which take time. First, the bruise in her muscle has to be recovered due to shifted muscle, subsequently physiotherapy before complete recovery," said Achmad Budiharto, PBSI Deputy of Secretary General.
The long absence will affect her Bellaetrix position as one of the mainstays to perform at Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic after Linda Wenifanetri. All badminton players in the world are participating as many as competitions in order to gain points so that they can qualify to the Olympic.
"There are still a lot of tournaments Bella can participate. The three month absence is attained from medical perspective, but in the end of the day, it depends on the person," added Ricky.
“It is a big blow for PBSI, but this is undesirable. It is not easy for Bella's road to Olympic. But we will do the best to help her recover. For instance, if the knee has not been allowed to move freely, Bella can still do upper body exercise by hitting the shuttlecock," said Budiharto.
With the absence of Bellaetrix at BCA Indonesia Open Super Series Premier 2015, Linda Wenifanetri, Hanna Ramadini are amon others to represent Indonesia's women's singles.
