They extend their
journey to eighth finals after overcoming Lauren Smith/Gabrielle White form England.
The 65 minute match delivered a unique performance from the pair along
with rally and good ball positioning. in the first set, Pia/Rizky, the
seventh seeded, was overwhelmed, they were left behind 10 - 16.
However, slowly but sure, with a full support from the fans at the
stadium, they were able to end the first set with a victory, 21 - 19.
A similar drama happened in the second set. But this time, Pia/Rizky
failed to take the remaining two points after equalising at 19. They
lost 19 - 21, the match had to be extended to the third set.
In the ultimate set, they throttled immediately. Leading 9 - 1, they
finally won the match by cosing the final set with 21-12.
"It was no easy tasks to overcome them (Lauren/Gabrielle), it wasn't
until the third set we could be familiar with their way of playing,"
Pia added.
In the eighth finals, they will challenge China's pair which had been
ensured their victory, Ma Jin/Tang Jinhua. The China's fourth seeds
was forced to play a three set match by Germany's pair, Johanna
Goliszewski/Birgit Michels 21-15, 19-21 and 21-11.
"Theoritically speaking, the China's pair was above us, [but] anything
is possible on the court, we don't think that we are somewhat more
inferior than them," she stated.
