JAKARTA - The #8 mixed doubles seed from Indonesia, Praveen Jordan/Debby Susanto, couldn't handle China's pair, Lu Kai/Huang Yaqiong, in the first round of the BCA Indonesia Open Superseries Premier (BIOSSP) 2016. Crushed in two straight sets, 15-21, 10-21, Tuesday (31/5), the defeat will be a precious and bitter lessons for them in welcoming 2016 Rio Olympic, Brazil, August 5-22.

Either Debby or Praveen is disappointed with the defeat. They often made blunders which favored their opponents. Previously they predicted they would face their seniors, Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir in quarter final after going through the earlier phases.

"They had a very well organized appearance, especially the guy (Lu Kai) who is tall and a good range control. I also made mistakes," Debby said at a press conference after the match.

Debby continued that since the beginning she saw the drawings was not really favorable for the 2016 All England champions. Moreover, the opponents had anticipated the match.

"Our initial target was to defeat them and meet Owi/Butet in the quarter final. But the China's pair displayed a more varied game and more varied shots. They applied their tactics and patterns and we were dictated," said Deby, a player from Palembang, Sumatera.

As a result, their negative outcome disappoints Indonesian fans. However, the defeat is taken as a precious lesson for them to welcome 2016 Rio Olympic with a more improved performance.

Similarly, Praveen admitted he was kept on under pressure since the beginning of the match. "We were very disappointed but what can we do now. The most important is we prepare for The Olympic in Rio," Praveen
ended.
