As stated by the Indonesian badminton living legend, Taufik Hidayat, the equal chances each player has will not give an easy journey to crown their titles. Especially in this Superseries Premier level of tournament where world top 5, top 10 to top 15 are obliged to perform.
"This time is unique and will be competitive because this is also a part of the road to lympic," said Taufik, the six time winner of Indonesia Open. he added that for the junior players, BIO 2015 is expected to be the proving ground for them.
"If possible, the second tier players present upsets. If they defeat "big" players they will consequently secure bigger points. This event should be also improving their confidence playing in a grand event," Taufik added.
For Jonatan, Taufik sees him as a promising player to prove his worth despite the difficult challenges ahead.
"The greatest strength Indonesia has are the men's doubles and mixed doules categories. Looking at the men's singles fixture, it is indeed a tough journey. Going through the qualification alone is already an achievement," he concluded.
In the women's doubles qualifying round at Istora Senayan, Tuesday (2/6), Nisak/Merisa stunned the qualifying round third seeded Komala Dewi/Vita Marisaa with 12-21, 21-18 and 22-20.
Fajar/Rian also defeated Malaysia's Jian Yi Lee/Zhen Ting Lim 21-17, 21-11. Ruselli too crushed the American Rong Schafer and managed himself to qualify to the qualifying round final with his victorious result, 21-14, 22-20. He will face another American player in the journey to the main round.
