JAKARTA – The tight competition to BCA Indonesia Open Super Series Premier 2014 winner’s podium will about to begin. Istora, the silent witness to the birth of champions all these years, will again be enlivened by the heat and wildness of Indonesian supporters known as the most excited supporter in the world.

"As a new sponsor, we hope there will be new historical record of either achievement or management. We really want to spoil every player who is going to compete and also to all visitors at Istora Senayan,” Inge Setiawati, Company Secretary BCA, said.

On the other hand, Djarum Foundation which has been given trust to hold the tournament with total prize US$ 750,000 claims that the preparation is nearly perfect to welcome the nation’s badminton event.

"We can assure you that the preparation is not far from 100%, and we are ready to welcome both players and supporters at Istora Senayan. All preparations have been conducted and we expect the event will run as expected." Said Program Director Bakti Olahraga Djarum Foundation, Budi Darmawan.

In addition, Gita Wirjawan, the president of PP PBSI also added, “We thank to BCA and Djarum Foundation which have given support for the success of this prestigious event. Hopefully, BCA Indonesia Open Super Series Premier 2014 can be crowned as the best badminton tournament in the world. We also hope that Indonesian top players can achieve success and young players too, can gain experience from this tournament,” he stated.

Before competing, the players are invited to Jakarta carrying their own goals; one of them is Cai Yun, who managed to be a champion in 2012 together with Fu Haifeng.

Simon Santoso, one of the Indonesian Doubles added, “I surely want to repeat success I achieved in 2012 in which I managed to be on the podium. The victory at Singapore Open Super Series 2014 over the world’s number one Lee Chong Wei is a booster for my confidence. Hopefully this time I can give the best for Indonesia,” he stated.

On the other hand, Simon Santoso who managed to win a title in 2012 but absence in 2013 has the same objective; to conquer Istora. "Every player longs to be a champion. I will surely do the best to achieve the best, especially playing at home. Supporters is one of the factors,” he said.

Apart from the three players above, two men’s doubles that became game changers in Thomas Cup from Japan, Kenichi Tago and Kento Momota, and some other players like three time women’s singles champion Saina Nehwal are also taking parts.
