Playing with faith and confidence, Lin Dan couldn't do much to stop the aggressive Tommy, Lin Dan had to take the defeat, 21-19, 8-21 and 16-21 at Istora Senayan, Wednesday (3/6).

Since the BIO 2015 drawing was released, Tommy was underrated to overcome Lin Dan. But he did his best.

“After winning over Lin Dan, people no longer underestimate me," he stated with confidence after the match.

Tommy stated the support from his family is very important. No longer joining the national team and having less sparing partners with less facilities, his family support plays a major role in motivating Tommy to play for his country.

Interviewed separately, Icuk said he is proud of his son's success at BIO 2015 first round. Icuk said Tommy applied the right strategy to grab the victory.

Pyschological factor was another factor for Tommy's victory. Especially Tommy is possessing somewhat similar quality to the two time Olympic champion (2008 and 2012).

Icuk said the morale support to boost Tommy is very crucial for his son. “To me, whether he is losing or winning it doesn't matter, what matters the most he is willing to fight to the limit. And that is what he showed today," he said.

”The most important is psychological state and Tommy's consistency. Every player has their up and down, it is a matter of managing the spikes," said Icuk who later congratulated Tommy for his victory.
