The world's number one pair surrendered with 21-15, 18-21, dan 18-21.
In the first set, Wang/Yu dominated the match. The consistent attack
and a mean defense brought them to a victory, 21 - 15. However, in the
second set, they often made unforced errors which gave their opponent
advantages, Wang/Yu was defeated, 18-21. In the ultimate third set,
their stamina was decreasing. Their opponent was easily scoring points
after points. The pair which is considered deadly by many was finally
forced to surrender, 18-21.
"We were exhausted, our stamina was dropped. The defeat was certain
since there will always be a winner and loser in every match," Yu Yang
added.
Even though Bao Chenng had to deal with the first seeded on their
journey to the podium, they admitted that they didn't encounter
difficulty playing against the more favorable pair. In addition, they
didn't have particular preparations in playing against the London 2011
champion.
"We didn't prepare any specific strategies. Even though they are first
seeded, the victory doesn't mean we are stronger than them," Bao Yixin
added.
The title is Bao/Cheng's first title in DIOSSP which allows them to
take US$ 55,300 home. They are planning to save for future investment.
