Winning Derby, Fitriani to the Second Round

JAKARTA - Women's singles Indonesian badminton, Fitriani, is to the second round of the BCA Indonesia Open Superseries Premier 2016 after stunning Gregoria Marisk in a derby match. Fitriani forced Gregoria to surrender with 21-14, 13-21, dan 21-16.

When asked about her key to voictory, Fitriani said it was how she handled pressure.

"Pressure was surely there in my first match, but since we often practiced together, I know hoe she played," she said.

Losing the second game, Fitriani admitted she lost her concentration and made mistakes

"In the second game I was losing because I lost my concentration and wasted many opportunities," she said.

In the second round, Fitriani is still waiting her next opponent who hasn't played a match in the main round, a match played by Saina Nehwal (India) against Pai Yu Po (Taiwan).

"My target is to do one step at a time. Whoever I will face, hopefully I can perform my best," she stated.
