Jakarta | The South Korean Women’s Doubles pair, Lee So Hee/Shin Seung Chan performed brilliantly when they beat the first seeded pair from Japan, Mayu Matsumoto/Wakana Nagahara in the quarter-final stage of Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000. Playing in Istora Senayan, Jakarta on Friday (19/7), Lee/Shin won the two-set match with the score of 21-13 and 21-11.

Through the match that lasted 35 minutes, Lee/Shin claims that they still cannot believe that they can win easily against the World’s No. 1 pair. Lee/Shin immediately shows their pressure since the beginning of the match.

“We still can’t believe that we can win easily in this match. This is beyond our expectation. We think they didn’t perform as well as they usually are. Today, their performance doesn’t feel like how the usual Japanese Women’s Doubles pair would play the game,” said Shin Seung Chan to Djarumbadminton.com.

Through to the semifinal of Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000, Lee/Shin will face yet another Japanese pair, Misaki Matsutomo/Ayaka Takahashi. Lee So Hee hopes that they can maintain the self-confident that they receive from today’s victory.

“For Tomorrow we will do an analysis first to decide which strategy is suitable to be played tomorrow. What’s important is to have the equal self-confident in every match. We won’t think whether the opponents are seeded or not, what matters for us is to play all-out and believe in our own abilities,” she said.
